Who are we?

Focus on Fitness has been developed by Sue Fraser who has been involved in sports, fitness, health, martial arts and women's self defence for over 25 years.

When she started out, her first exposure to fitness was learning karate. Although one thinks of karate as being a young persons' sport and too competitive, Susan found that, with the acquisition of several styles of martial arts, there were many elements encompassed that many ages could benefit from.

Focus on Fitness is the culmination of having learned, trained and acquiring ranks in four martial arts styles as well as numerous health and safety classes, pedagogy of teaching and the bio-mechanics of safe exercise.

Ms Fraser's Focus on Fitness program is now open to the public for the first time. Her own personal concern for aging while maintaining good health has motivated her to share her knowledge with others who have encountered the 'wonderful issues' of aging. Physical challenges will be noted and addressed. This program is geared to help you get moving safely and improve the physical and health quality of your life.

Instructor

Sue Fraser is a Certified Instructor with a firm background in First Aid, CPR and bio-mechanics of movement. Sue has been involved in martial arts, fitness and defense classes for over 25 years and has developed a program that is pro-active for aging-related health conditions.

The Program

FOcus on Fitness offers a new safe exercise for all ages. The fitness program is called Sudo Chi – similar in some ways to Tai Chi but with a stronger emphasis on cardio, breathing, balance, muscle strengthening, flexibility, core strength building and 'brain training'. Physical injuries or limitations should be of no consequence to working out. All exercises can work around limitations and, by doing so, will increase self awareness of alternative activity.

The program will be able to accommodate all stages of 'participant physical fitness levels' and is sure to give you a new appreciation for movement!
